First, here are a couple of cute photos of Monta this evening. Following that is a photo of two cute bugs on a tree in a park in my neighborhood this morning. Finally, two photos from the Lotus Pond at Ueno Park on Friday. Summertime in Tokyo.
Here is the new home for what I’ve now confirmed is a cyclamen. I never heard of them before, but it seems everybody else in the world has one, and gardening advice has been pouring in. So I ran over to the 100 yen shop this morning and got it/him/her new digs.
This plant needs more attention than any animal pet I have ever owned.
Seven hours ago it’s all, “oh I’m wilting, oh help me.”
Then I give it some water, and six hours later it’s much improved.
And then another hour later it’s in perfect condition again.
It was the same thing yesterday. And it will probably be the same thing tomorrow.
The person who gave it to me said it only needs water once a week. Thanks, Katsuyo-san!
It’s like the person who gave me my dog, Tao, so many years ago and promised, “Don’t worry he won’t even grow to be twice the size.”
