So much for my grand plans to get to sleep early tonight.

I was asleep for about two hours and a huge earthquake sent the house shaking. It’s still moving a bit. Magnitude 7.4, 6 out of 7 on the Japanese scale centered in Miyagi with tsunami warnings.

  2. I wonder if it ranks as an aftershock or is its own earthquake in its own right.Earthquakes had settled down to less than 10 per day the last week, most very mild. But this one had another “the big one” feel to it.I’m going to try to get back to sleep.doug
