Of course everybody understands that Mitt Romney was (desperately) quoting the president out of context (as he is wont to do) with Obama’s now famous “you didn’t build that” statement. Romney left out the previous sentence which clarified that the “that” referred to the entire infrastructure of U.S. education and commerce, which was built, for the common good, mostly by government resources, and without which nobody could succeed.
(Prediction: Romney’s “quoting-out-of-context” is going to come back to hurt him hard. If everybody played by his rules we could have Romney saying anything at all.)
