Antiques around the fence at Lafayette Park

One of the big draws to the House and Garden tour in Lafayette Square are all the antique stalls set up around the Lafayette Park perimeter fence.

Here are some sights and interesting old objects I saw while wandering around. I’m still wonder if I should have bought the old book of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poems printed in the 1800s. There was a crushed flower inside, which looks like it might have been from back then…

But I did snag a 1901 William McKinley mourning pin, the top of a 19th century German cuckoo clock with bird engravings and a wooden owl whistle.

  1. Love the antiques around the fence…….I went sat. Saw a piece of furniture. After mulling it over decided I needed it. Went back sun. Dealer not there. It was booth 73. Is there any way I could get his phone number? I would be forever grateful. Thank you in advance.
