Who knew? I thought I would have to travel Kamakura or Kyoto to see places like this. But it turns out there is quite an interesting neighborhood not too far from where I live. By Nippori station, there are some neighborhoods collectively called the Yanaka, Nezu, Sendagi area.

My friend Fern from St. Louis was visiting, and we took a nice walking tour around the area, which contains many shrines, temples, old cemeteries, and interesting shops.
