Just a quick comparison of the Nexus 7 and iPhone 5 cameras.

The Nexus camera is not as bad as I thought. I just took these two photos at the same time in the same lighting, one with my Nexus 7 and the other with my iPhone 5. Both have 5-megapixel rear cameras:

While the Nexus 7 photo looks a bit noisier to me, the photo is brighter than the iPhone 5 camera, and I believe the white balance is much better and the colors are truer to what is actually there. The iPhone 5 doesn’t get the color balance right and has a distinct yellowish tint that isn’t there. The colors in real life look like they do in the Nexus 7 photo.
