Today was my scheduled day for volunteer orientation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. It was actually sort of fun. They were very organized, and had everything scheduled so people got a chance to mingle and try some “team activities,” then get interviewed, and finally get IDs confirmed and have a photo shoot, in relatively small groups.
I also learned today that while we say “Tokyo Twenty-Twenty” in English, in Japanese everybody is saying “Tokyo Ni-Zero Ni-Zero” (Ni=Two).
