At the Sensoji in Asakusa today

There were almost no sakura in bloom yet, but a couple of trees had started. If you click on the photos you can see them larger.

Mankai along the Nakagawa – 4 April 2016

Today was supposed to be rainy, but the skies cleared and the weather is beautiful. I just came back from a bike ride along the Nakagawa, and you can see the sakura are in peak full bloom today, with some petals beginning to fall.

The video is a 45 second bike ride along the river looking at the cherry trees. Below that are some photos from today.

Sakura along the Nakagawa, 1 April 2016

I can’t believe it’s already April! The cherry blossoms are essentially in full bloom now, though a few trees are hold-outs. Today is Friday, but I think weekend visitors to parks won’t be disappointed.

Below the very short video (just a few seconds) are some photos taken during my bike ride along the Nakagawa this afternoon.

Sakura along the Nakagawa, 31 March 2016

I would say that for more than half the trees the cherry blossoms are, oh, 85% in bloom. For about 30% of the trees they are way less than that. So it’s not “mankai” yet, but pretty close! It’s also beautiful weather today.

These photos were taken just before, on a bike ride along the Nakagawa.
