Pao has begun to understand when I’m pointing at something
I read once that dogs understand when you are pointing at something, while cats don’t. Apparently cats just look at your finger.
Pao will be three months old tomorrow, and I noticed over the last few days that he clearly understands when I’m pointing at something.
For example, we could be playing “fetch” with a squeaky toy he likes. If it ends up under the stairs I can point under the stairs, he will bend down and look in the direction I’m pointing, see the toy, and squeeze under it to get it. (He’s up to 8.6 kg now, so I don’t know how much longer he’ll be able to fit.)
But it’s interesting that some animals seem to naturally understand to look at what you are pointing at while others don’t, don’t you think?
By the way, Pao got his booster shot at the vet today, so I can start taking him for walks outside any day now. Here we are together at the vet today.
