Well, I never saw that before. Mon has laid a few eggs this month – three, but one dropped out of the nest yesterday and broke. However, Monta won’t let Mon near them. He sits on the eggs all the time.

But Mon really really wants to get into the nest.

Just before, Mon took a diving flight into the nest where Monta is and they fought for control. Nobody got hurt, but for a few seconds it was a swirling ball of feathers and you couldn’t see who was who. Then Monta was able to throw Mon out of the nest. Like a java sparrow sumo contest.

It was the first time I had ever seen them both in the nest together, but not really in a good way.
