Mon has started laying eggs again. Unfortunately, when this happens Monta tends to be very selfish over the nest, even though there are two nests! He will throw her out of the nest while she is trying to lay eggs. This often ends in disaster, such as the egg getting thrown out and broken on the floor of the cage.
So I found it best to separate them during her egg laying period, for a week to 10 days.
That way Mon can lay her eggs, and relax in the nest as she likes. Monta’s separate cage is somewhat smaller, but he has his swing and his millet and indoor ofuro and everything he likes to play with in there.
If Tao was still alive, he would be 22 years old today! It’s almost incomprehensible to think that Tao entered my life so long ago! He was a very good boy. So grab your box of tissues and lets take our yearly trip down memory lane.
After ignoring me at first, Monta finally came over to play! He was sort of scolding me for being away. Mon came over too, but was camera shy.
Monta is all over me now, and singing and jumping.
Sue took this photo just now. I am down in the basement, and the cats are lying in wait for me to return so they can get their dinner. It’s too early for dinner, so I wonder how long they will sit there like that!
