This is the night before my latest U.S. trip.

When my friend, Hirokazu, sticks his finger in Hao-chan’s cage, Hao-chan comes over, stares at his finger, sings and then moves in for a tummy rub. When I do the same thing Hao-chan attacks me! He is fine outside the cage though. This is 100% reproducible!

When I whistle for Hao-chan he always comes and lands in my hand.

He has possibly the largest cage for a single Java Sparrow in all of Japan. I can’t believe I got it home from the airport!
