Mon-chan on swing

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Mon-chan really loves the hanging rings. Today he-or-she started using them as a swing!

Devil Mon-chan

Friday, February 26th, 2010

This one’s funny because with the red eye from the flash Mon-chan (who is the size of my finger, and very sweet and gentle) looks like some huge, scary monster.

Mon-chan likes being petted

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Even though he-or-she has only been here a few days, Mon-chan is very hand-tamed already, and even likes being petted! Take a look at the video.

Mon-chan’s first visit to the computer room!

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

He-or-she was terrified of the PhotoBooth shutter sound and started flying to different places in the room – the door ledge, the top of the curtains, etc. So I shut off the sound and manage to take a few photos. Then put Mon-chan back in the cage to recover. :)

Hao-chan and Mon-chan are definitely showing curiosity about each other.

Mon-chan sitting on my hand

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Mon-chan now feels comfortable enough to climb onto my finger and sit there. He/she even went to sleep like this!

Mon-chan eats lunch, and Hao-chan joins in

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Mon-chan finally figured out where the food was!

There’s a new bird in town!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

I couldn’t resist. I got another Java Sparrow! This time a cinnamon flavored one.

These photos show him on his way home on the train, arriving at home and side by side Hao-chan’s cage. I’m keeping them separate until they get used to each other. The idea is for them to become friends and live together!

His-or-her name is yet to be decided.

I’ll upload some more photos. He/she is quite cute. As soon as it explored around a bit, it hopped on the perch and curled up into a ball and went to sleep.

These photos are from my iPhone but I have some better ones too.

Hao-chan drying himself

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

After helping me wash the dishes and taking a bath in my hands, Hao-chan flew over to the computer to dry himself.
